In order for the Society of Preventive Psychiatry to achieve its purposes, its main field of work is to plan and implement research projects, related to its mission; the projects are mainly within the frame of the European Union’s wider objectives.
The Society’s own resources or any other source provided for in the Articles, on condition that this is not contrary to the Society’’ objectives, constitute the main instrument of funding for these projects. The citizens’ civil rights are absolutely respected, during the implementation period of all projects, according to the principles of ethics and professional deontology.
A scientific head of project is appointed for all research projects or other projects, which bears the project’s full scientific, financial and legal responsibility, following a decision by the Administrative Board of the Society of Preventive Psychiatry.
The Administrative Board appoints the scientific head of the project or the person replacing him/her, when the research project is directly funded from the Society’s property. In case the Society of Preventive Psychiatry is funded by an external agent, specifically as far as EU projects are directly concerned or with the intermediate action of the Greek State and/or national or other institutions in order to complete a research project, then, in the case mentioned above, when the Administrative Board accepts this research project, as a consequence, it also accepts the scientist or the team mentioned in the funding proposal, as the one who will be scientific head of project. Furthermore, if the funding proposal fails to mention the person replacing the head of project, then the latter appoints this person at his/her own free will choosing from this external proposal.
The Society of Preventive Psychiatry can withhold only up to 10% of the total amount of funding, in order to cover operational or administrative expenses deriving from the Society’s acceptance to conduct the project. The Society can keep this amount exclusively with the purpose of serving this goal and this must take place only during the project’s stages of evolution.
