The persons eligible to become members of the Society of Preventive Psychiatry are those that manifest a high interest and performance in the field of preventive mental health and whose authority in terms of professional training, scientific activity and moral ethics is beyond questioning. Besides psychiatrists and professionals of related health care fields, citizens with a proven interest and activities related to the Society’s field of action can also become members

The members of the Society of Preventive Psychiatry can be either full members or senior and honorary members. Full members are the signing founding members as well as the ones to become members in the future, following a unanimous decision by the members of the Administrative Board, according to the procedure provided for in the Articles of the Society of Preventive Psychiatry. The full members pay the necessary contribution to register and maintain this status. Since the Society of Preventive Psychiatry is a non profit organisation, the above contributions are not to be requested and they remain in the Society’s property to the benefit of the Society’s work, therefore, they are considered as non revocable donations.

Besides psychiatrists and professionals of related health care fields, citizens with a proven interest and activities related to the Society’s field of action can also become members.

Members can register after filing the relevant application form with the Society’s Administrative Board, attaching a short curriculum vitae referring to the applicant’s activities. The candidate’s registration is approved, if the relevant application is supported by the absolute majority of the total number of the Administrative Board’s members.

An associate or a senior member can withdraw at any moment, after filing the relevant application form, on condition that s/he has settled all financial obligations towards the Society of Preventive Psychiatry and on condition that s/he will never request the return of their contributions nor any kind of Society’s assets, unless the member in question has expressly and legally provided a loan to the benefit of the Society of Preventive Psychiatry. In this last case, the loan, which may be legally proven, is to be repaid back to the lender without interest, complying with the deadlines that have legally been set.
