The Society of Preventive Psychiatry is organizing a series of three two-hour talks on Mental Health Promotion at the Theocharakis Foundation (Vasilissis Sofias and Merlin str., Athens) on Fridays, 9, 16 and 23 November 2018 from 6.00 to 8.00 pm.
On Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018, 11.00 – 13.00, at the Amphitheater of the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens, 4 Efesiou Str., 115 27 Athens, a speech will be held by the Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry of the University of Athens, Professor George Christodoulou, on “Psychosomatic Medicine: Meeting of Soul and Body”

KINAPSI held a one-day meeting entitled “Translation of Brain Research into Clinical Practice”.
The objectives of the event were to increase public awareness of the progress and benefits of brain research, and specifically to raise awareness of the recent advances made in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of Schizophrenia and Dementia. The Meeting took place in Athens on Tuesday March 15th 2016. The aim was to give participants a very clear understanding of the importance of Basic Research in Neuroscience. The program included a Lab Visit, the purpose of which was to familiarize people with mental health problems and their carers with current neuroscience research in Greece. The meeting was held under the auspices of the Hellenic minister of Health, Hellenic Psychiatric Association, WFMH & European Brain Council.

WPA International Congress in Cape Town, 18-22 November, 2016.
The congress will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from the 18th to 22th November 2016, with the two congress presidents – the WPA’s President, Prof Dinesh Bhugra, and the President of the SASOP, Dr Mvuyiso Talatala. The theme of this congress will be “Psychiatry: Integrative Care for the Community” and will explore concepts, controversies and consequences of Psychiatry’s responsibility and accountability to society in terms of its scope of practice and of what can be considered as Psychiatry’s social contract.Τhe call for abstracts and proposals for symposia is currently open, until 31st March 2016.
